Photography by Layne new logoWe are so fortunate to have Layne Baker as our official photographer of LTYM STL 2017. She is not only a photographer, she is an artist, a communicator, and a passionate person who not only captures an image but tells a story.

Over the last couple of months, Layne has met with each one of our cast members individually to get to know them personally and set up a customized photo shoot that reflects their personality and story. Here’s a few of many moments she captured:

Layne has been a photographer in various forms for the past 16 years. As a photojournalist for ONW Publishing in Oklahoma, she covered special events, and product and venue advertising for both print and web. Eventually, she left the publishing business to pursue photography in its purest form. She opened her own business in 2016, Photography by Layne, and is now concentrating strictly on commercial, marketing and family/lifestyle photography.

“I love capturing images of people being people. Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone. Each story is special, unique and adds meaning to the world in some certain way. You just have to ask questions and learn what those stories are. I want my images to reflect their story, to mean something to them and to others viewing the image. My images immortalize the answers to those questions. I hope they also inspire others to ask more them questions and to see that person with new eyes, new interest, new connectiveness,” she said.

Listen To Your Mother and Layne are a perfect fit, and she has built a personal relationship with each of us.

“The production of Listen to Your Mother gives a verbal platform for the unique and special stories of its cast members. Its format blends so naturally into the type of photography I truly love to do. This show gives me the opportunity to produce an image that goes with their voice. This exercise has really challenged my creative nature and I am blessed with the opportunity. I truly hope the cast members love cast portraits as much as I loved going through the journey with them,” she said.

If you are looking for a photographer to capture real people, real events and real life…Layne is the woman for the job!
