Long time no see, St. Louis!

Winter is upon us, so now is the time to bunker down and think about how you want to start the New Year ahead. Would you like to break out of your comfort zone, share your voice to tell your personal story, make an impact on other people’s lives, and have the time of your life with an amazing group of St. Louis women (and men)? If you answered YES, then you need to be a part of the FIFTH ANNUAL grand finale season of Listen To Your Mother St. Louis. Submissions are now open!

We will be accepting submissions for the 2017 show—which will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the St. Luke’s Institute for Health Education in Chesterfield—NOW through February 17.  That gives you more than a month to start processing what you want to say about your true stories of motherhood. And we know the STL community is bursting with incredibly moving stories to share, here’s your chance to share yours with a live audience! Remember, you don’t have to be a published author or writer, or an experienced speaker to qualify for an audition to our live stage performance. All you need is to write/speak from the heart, and we will create a tapestry of stories that is guaranteed to move our audience and fellow cast members in a profound, unforgettable way.

We are looking for stories from all different perspectives and emotions—from hilarious to heartbreaking and everything in between, as long as the theme is motherhood. We aim to represent the rich, diverse culture in our wonderful community and we offer the microphone to all races, religions, ethnicities, backgrounds, and points of view. Plus, you don’t have to be a mom to be part of this national LTYM movement. Our 2015 show featured two men with touching stories that blew us away! Check out this post from our Chicago affiliate about angles you can take with your essay if you’re not a mom. And our NYC team offers for this LTYM writing advice to help you get started!

Keep in mind, each piece must fall between 3-5 minutes when read aloud, which is about two pages, so please edit your story accordingly before submitting it. Then hit the send button, LTYMStLouis@gmail.com.

So, show us what you’ve got St. Louis—and thank you from the bottom of our heart for your support all these years. Check back here for our charity partner announcement, sponsor news, and of course, more submission details!

Meanwhile, if you’d like to subscribe to the LTYM National newsletter, click the link in our sidebar.

We also want to thank our premiere sponsor St. Luke’s Hospital for hosting our show these last five years in their beautifully renovated auditorium.

For updates follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. As we anticipate 2017, draw inspiration from 2000 videos from past seasons on our LTYMShow YouTube channel.

Any questions, please contact us? We would love to hear from you at LTYMStLouis@gmail.com.

Finally, we wish you and your families the most joyous holiday season filled with lots of love, peace, and, of course, cookies!  See ya back here in January!
