Auditions are by appointment only on Saturday, February 23 at a south hill location to be announced. To reserve your spot, simply send an email to email@example.com requesting a time and we’ll put you on the schedule.
Commitment for cast members includes two group read-throughs in April, a pre-performance run-through at the Bing Crosby Theater and one 7:00 p.m. performance on Mother’s Day. Previously published work accepted as long as the author retains full rights or has express permission to read the work for this event.
We have been so lucky the past two years to have amazing and talented people trust us with their stories about motherhood, mothering and mothers. All angles and aspects of these experiences are welcome in the show. Diversity of voice is the heart of LTYM. Every single one of you has a story and we would love to hear you tell it this year. Please consider auditioning. You need not be a (capital “W”) Writer. You need not be published, and you need not have performance experience. All we want is you and your words, straightforward and heartfelt, about having or being or wanting (or not) to be a mother. There’s no wrong way to tell us a story. Funny is awesome. Heartbreaking is perfect. Just in your own words and uniquely yours.
Pieces need to be 5 minutes or less when read out loud. How easy is that! If you have questions about form, subject, nerves, or anything else we are happy to answer questions or to give suggestions. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
If you are not interested in auditioning, please forward this information to others who you think may be: friends, colleagues, family, kids, etc. and encourage them to audition. To have a great show we need incredible people to come and read for us so pass the word along far and wide!
