We also invite you to experience voices from our shows all across North America featuring powerful true stories that capture all facets of contemporary parenting (as well as stories about our own upbringing) including very timely personal narratives given the recent events in Orlando, Baton Rouge, Shaker Heights, and Dallas. On the Listen To Your Mother YouTube channel we feature a variety of playlists by topic, and for 2016 we’ve added two new playlists–one with stories about race, and another with stories from LGBTQ families.

That’s A Wrap!

by jillg on May 13, 2016

The second annual Listen To Your Mother Seattle show was a ginormous success. Stories were told, tears were cried, and laughter zinged off the walls. Jen and I are so grateful for the chance to put the show together. As much as we loved every step, nothing beats the feeling we had after seeing each cast member step into their bad-assery and shine on stage.

To our storytellers–wowie-wow-wow. You were all amazing! Each of you stepped up to the podium, into the spotlight and then killed it. Every one of you to resounding applause. You did it. YOU. DID. THAT!

We’re also tremendously grateful for the support we received from our local sponsors. Thank you to Annie’s Nannies and Glimmer Glass Photography. Suzy Petrucci, you perfectly captured the joy and playfulness of our cast and we will always cherish your photographs.

We are grateful to Town Hall Seattle for providing a classy venue in which to host our show, as well as giving us all the resources required to manage the production.

We are thankful to the The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas for the incredible work they do in helping local youth find their voice through writing, and proud to have supported with them 10% of our ticket sales.

To Ann Imig and the entire national Listen To Your Mother team: thank you for the opportunity, for your guidance and your superhero-like ability to instantaneously be at the ready with answers for over a hundred directors and producers.

Finally, to everyone who attended the show: thank you, thank you, thank you. Your energy, joy and tears filled the room and made it immeasurably easier for our storytellers to tap into their courage and share their heartfelt and humorous word-babies.

That’s all for now! We’ll shout again this summer when the 2016 videos roll out.

Until then!

xo,

Jill and Jennifer
