Announcing the 2017 Cast of Listen to Your Mother San Antonio!

March 2, 2017

We are so thrilled to announce the 2017 Cast of Listen to Your Mother: San Antonio. We had over 50 people sign up to audition over two February weekends. Narrowing it down to make one 90-minute show was incredibly difficult. We were completely bowled over by the quality of the storytelling…and yet we managed to narrow it down to 13 incredible stories that fit together like a patchwork quilt. Each piece is unique and stands on its own…yet together the pieces make something different and beautiful. Our 2017 show is raw, gritty, funny, warm, messy…real. Real life. Real stories. Real motherhood. Real people. You’ll laugh. Maybe you’ll cry. Maybe you’ll nod your head. Maybe you’ll be relieved because you’ll hear something that resonates with you and you’ll think “Wow, that stuff happens to other people, too?” Guess what? That stuff does happen to other people, too. We are so grateful to all who […]

Listen to Your Mother San Antonio Call for 2017 Auditions

January 9, 2017

On behalf of your 2017 Listen to Your Mother San Antonio production team, I am excited to announce auditions for our 2017 show! Auditions. Are. Open. Do you have a story of motherhood? The answer is yes, you do. You don’t have to be a mother to have a story about motherhood. If you’re a mom, then of course you have stories about motherhood. You have stories about how much you love being a mother or stories about your journey to motherhood. You also have stories about poop, sleep deprivation, and that day you convinced yourself you were the WORST MOM EVER because you lost your kid at Fiesta. But we all have stories about our mothers or the women who raised us. Sad stories, happy stories, funny stories. Maybe you have stories about not wanting to be a mom or trying to be a mom.   But, you have a story. We […]

Do you have a story of motherhood?

December 20, 2016

The answer is yes – you do. Everyone has a story about motherhood. It may be a story about your experience as a mom. It may be a story about your own mother or the person who raised you.  It may be a story about not being a mom, wishing you were a mom or losing your mom. So why not share that story? Listen to Your Mother – San Antonio is busy behind the scenes and we’ll announce audition dates and times in early January. We do have a date: Saturday, May 13th at 5:00 p.m. We do have a venue: The Carver Community Cultural Center. We’re thrilled to be working with The Carver this year. Our 2016 show at the Tobin Center’s Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater was nearly sold out and we’re excited to have room to expand in 2017. Your readings should be around five minutes in length when read […]

The 2016 Videos are Here!

July 15, 2016

If you missed our amazing show on April 23rd, not to worry. We’ve gotcha covered. I recommend taking some time out with a nice cup of coffee or tea – or maybe glass of really good wine – and treating yourself to some time to watch these videos and LISTEN to these stories. They are amazing. You will laugh. You will cry. You might laugh and cry at the same time, and that’s okay. But you will say these two words: me too. Do you have a story? I bet you do. Subscribe to the Listen to Your Mother newsletter to see what’s next and how you might take part. Thanks again, San Antonio. I’m so honored to have a small part of bringing these stories to you. See you soon, xo, Jill by
