Thank You, San Antonio!

For those of you who came out to the Carver Community Cultural Center on May 13th, you know Listen to Your Mother San Antonio put on an awesome show. We laughed – a lot. We cried…from my seat in the front row, I could hear the little packages of tissues we arranged strategically throughout the auditorium being opened. Thirteen stories that had absolutely nothing to do with each other came together on one stage and made something beautiful.

In case you missed it, here are a few pictures. And, even if you were there, here are a few peeks behind the curtain. Thank you to Mewborne Photography for the wonderful photographs.

It’s eight days ‘till show day. Eek! We’re in the single digits!

We are busy with rehearsals, photography, printing, publicity, lists, lists and lists. All the chaos that happens behind the curtain is going to come together soon to bring you a great show, San Antonio!

We are so grateful to our local sponsors who make it possible to bring Listen to Your Mother to San Antonio. We want to give a shout out to Dr. Troy Haliparn and the Cosmetic Gynecology Center of San Antonio.

We get it. Stuff “down there” isn’t something that most people are comfortable discussing openly. If you feel a lack of confidence about the way things are looking (or working) then maybe cosmetic gynecology is for you.

Dr. Troy Robbin Haliparn is internationally renowned in the field of cosmetic gynecology. She is Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and has been in practice since 1994. Dr. Haliparn has performed over 3000 vaginal rejuvenation and nearly 800 labiaplasty procedures and has 22+ years of vaginal surgery experience.

Services offered at the Cosmetic Gynecology Center of San Antonio include Vaginal Rejuvination, Thermiva, the O-Shot and more.

Childbirth, aging and other things can contribute to problems with the vaginal structure. If these things are a concern for you then now you know where to start looking for answers to the questions you probably have.

Choosing cosmetic gynecology is an intensely personal and sensitive topic. The Cosmetic Gynecology Center of San Antonio understands this and will respect your privacy and work to make you as comfortable as possible while you explore your choices.

Listen to Your Mother is a 90-minute live show about the experiences of motherhood. If you’re a mom, you know motherhood can do a number on things below the belt. We have 13 readers in our lineup this year and while none of them are reading about this particular issue, we do have some videos from our Listen to Your Mother video archives that you might find…entertaining.

To find out more about the Cosmetic Gynecology Center of San Antonio, go HERE.

Come see our show this year on May 13th at The Carver Community Cultural Center at 5:00 p.m. We don’t have any vagina stories this year but we have wonderful stories of motherhood that are sweet, salty, sassy, gut-wrenching, hilarious and everything in between. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll leave feeling glad you came. We promise.

Tickets on sale now.

All tickets purchased online will incur Ticketmaster fees. You can purchase no-fee tickets at the Carver Community Cultural Center’s box office from 8-5 Monday through Friday, 226 North Hackberry, San Antonio TX 78202

Spotlight on our Cause – Clarity Child Guidance Center

April 20, 2017

Have you ever seen a child acting out in public and silently tsk-tske’d? Have you ever had thoughts like “what’s wrong with him” or “why doesn’t her mother do something about that?” Of course you have. You’re human. But think about it this way: behavior problems should be thought of as a signal that something else wrong in the child’s life. The behavior can be seen as a signal or alert.  The behavior itself is rarely the actual problem but usually the product of something else. Did you know that 1 in 5 children suffer from mental illness? That’s 80,000 children in Bexar County alone. Out of those 1 in 5 children that suffer from mental, emotional or behavioral problems only 1 in 5 of those children actually receive treatment. Just let that sink in. What happens to children who have untreated mental illness? They’re more likely to drop out of high school, […]

Listen to Your Mother San Antonio – Behind the Curtain

April 14, 2017

It’s been my pleasure to introduce our 2017 cast members and watch our show take shape from behind the scenes. If you missed our three-part meet the cast series, you can catch up here, here and here. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes when putting one of these shows together. Some of it is creative and exciting, some of it is mundane and even stressful. Sounds a little like motherhood to me, which makes sense because Listen to Your Mother: San Antonio is kind of like my baby. In the spirit of what goes on behind the curtain in the days, weeks and even months leading up to our show, I’m closing out our “meet the cast” series with five people who make the parts of the show that you don’t see happen…and when things don’t run smoothly, these great ladies at least help me look like they do.
