May 5, 2017

Now that both Listen To Your Mother: Rochester and Roc Spoken Word have woven themselves into the fabric that is the Rochester literary scene, it’s only natural that our readers and wordsmiths overlap. Enter Scott Seifritz, founder and organizer of RSW, who beautifully orchestrates the Speak Easies–the spoken-word events–at Cheshire on South Avenue. While tickets are completely SOLD OUT for this weekend’s Speak Easy: Stories With Cocktails (dovetailing with the Rochester Cocktail Revival), opportunities exist both to be a reader and listener at this monthly gathering. (What could be better? Stories, writers, the people who love writers, and cocktails!) The environment Scott has created in this cozy space is one of camaraderie, support, and mellowness, having given the general public a place to share their words and BE HEARD.
