ANN IMIG is the founder of the live-reading series and video sharing company LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER and editor of the acclaimed anthology LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: What She Said Then, What We’re Saying Now (Putnam Books, 2015). A Stay-At-Home Humorist, Ann’s writing has been featured on sites like CollegeHumor, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Huffington Post and The Washington Post. Brianne DeRosa was a member of the 2013 Providence cast and is taking on her second year co-directing. She’s a freelance communications consultant, writer, blogger, and family dinner advocate who can often be found working on web content as a team member for The Family Dinner Project and contributor to HandPicked Nation. Bri’s an MFA Playwright in a former life and has spent years working on creative initiatives in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. When she’s not working, baking, or paying attention to her sadly neglected food blog, Red, Round, or Green, Bri indulges her passion for classical music as a section leader for The Providence Singers. She’s proud to be the wife of her college sweetheart and mother to two boys (ages 6 and 8) who both break the mold…and sometimes break her brain.
Chelley Martinka is co-producing this year, for a second time. She was a part of the 2014 cast, and auditioned in 2013! She’s a Philadelphia native, coming to Providence by way of Johnson & Wales University. A 2006 baccalaureate graduate, her passions have always included Philadelphia sports, running long distances (for FUN!), event planning and the organizing of everything. In 2009, she married her partner in crime, Dave, and in 2012 they had a baby girl! Addie was born with dwarfism and a new chapter of their lives began.
Now mother of two (Camille was born September 19, 2014), Chelley is excited to continue advocating for dwarfism awareness and the disability community, enjoying the arts and beaches of Rhode Island, celebrating the ever-changing world of motherhood and writing at her blog A is for Adelaide!
Lauren Jordan was a member of the 2013 cast and is co-directing this year- also her second year. A Boston native, Lauren is adjusting to life in Rhode Island with her husband of 11 years and their 6-year old son. A fundraiser by day and fueled by massive amounts of coffee, she loves writing about adoption, humor and their journey on her blog Don’t Lick the Trash Can, which came to fruition after an unfortunate trash licking incident at the doctor’s office. She laughs everyday.
Angela is first and foremost the best mother to her two children, Louisa and Noah. In addition she is an impassioned educator who is very savvy with technology but does not use social media. When she is not immersed in teaching and learning, she indulges in other passions that include cleaning and organizing, repurposing old things for new uses, and hiking with her family. She recently had a lesson published on ed.ted.com titled “The Science of Skin Color.” She can’t wait to tell the world all about her experience with motherhood.
Valerie is currently navigating her way through raising a teenage daughter. She currently holds the rank of Nidan, or second degree black belt, in Shotokan karate and she works with kids through the RI 4-H programs. Val is very excited to be a part of LTYM this year.
Mom of three finding herself embattled in the joyous but often tenuous and scary world of medical complexity with her youngest. She balances her world with normal days of happiness and gut wrenching days of hospital stays.
Tamar is a lesbian mama to two beautiful twins, Gus and Milo, and wife to, Kris. As well as being a 7th grade teacher at Gordon, the four and a half year old twins keep the couple very busy and amused/exhausted most of the time.
Jasmine is a student, a mediator, a fixer, a friend, a dreamer, and a lover. She is an MS Warrior, a Cancer Survivor, and a fearless Do-er, loving Wife and fierce Mom of 5.
Jen is a singer/songwriter as well as a Music Teacher with East Side Music Together, a music and movement program for children and their caregivers. She is a closet essay/blog writer- this being the first time that she’s ever shared any of her writing with the public. She’s been married to her husband, Kory, for 21 years and is mother to two teenaged boys, Mitchell, 14 and Fletcher, 16.
Leah’s childhood dream was to become an author though she never expected her first book to be Naked Parenting: 7 Keys to Raising Kids With Confidence. This parenting book stemmed from Leah DeCesare’s main gig as mother of three and she writes between car pools and laundry. The second in the Naked Parenting series is now available: Naked Parenting: Guiding Kids in a Digital World.
Married for 21 years, Leah’s current parenting adventures revolve around kids, tween and teenagers, creating the basis for her Mother’s Circle parenting blog, www.motherscircle.net, where she shares perspectives on parenting from pregnancy through teens.
Her pre-baby professional experience was in public relations and event planning but for the past fifteen years, her career has focused on birth, babies, and early parenting as a certified childbirth educator, a birth and postpartum doula.
She parents, writes, teaches and volunteers in Rhode Island.
