Marie Wreath: 2017 LTYM OKC Cast Member

by marif on April 27, 2017

Meet Marie WreathMarie Wreath is a native Okie, the oldest of five children all grateful to have two of the most generous and long-suffering parents on the planet. She grew up in Oklahoma City but now lives on a small acreage east of town with her wonderful husband of almost sixteen years. She has two beautiful, miraculous daughters (ages 19 and 21). She believes that tender love and stubborn faith can move mountains. She sees God’s power in every pattern nature offers and wishes truly that time might pass more slowly because life is so beautiful.

Q: How did you learn about LTYM?
A: Mari (co-producer) and a few other local bloggers have had so many good things to say about it! Last year and the year before I very nearly auditioned but the timing was not quite right for our family.

Q: What was your reaction to getting cast in this year?
A: Shocked, truly, and a little terrified. My audition was beyond sloppy due to so much crying, and I know my piece was too long and unfocused. It’s a big story to tell. Also, though, I felt like the moment is finally right to share this chapter of our story. My husband and I had been praying about it, so once the emotional reaction cooled I was less shocked. Then (actually within a few days) my oldest daughter came to me with encouragement to share my own story, to speak up for myself, not knowing about this event. When I told her, she was overjoyed and immediately asked if she could attend. That was my confirmation that it’s the right thing to do. Especially considering that this is the final year for OKC. God’s timing is amazing.

Q: What are three words that describe you?
A: Optimistic, romantic, hungry.

Q: Tell us 2 fun facts about yourself?
A: I am possessed by a weird celebrity fascination with Mr. T, and I carry around a small action figure bearing his likeness, which I pose and use to capture moments in time and valuable life lessons. “Pity the Fool” and stuff. He is called Tiny T. I desperately hope to one day meet the real, life-sized one. And I have busted out my two top front teeth a grand total of nine times, starting around age ten and leading up all the way to adulthood. I get really stressed out about dangerous tooth situations. Like rakes left perilously on the barn floor.

Q: What can you tell us about your hobbies/interests/things you collect, etc?
A: I’m a fairly passionate home gardener and am trying to build up my skills to match. In recent years I have taken up beekeeping, which is a wonderful complimentary endeavor and also continues an old family legacy. I have big dreams of not just agricultural sustainability on our nine acres but also selling our growable edibles. I love it. I also want so much to publish books, novels really. And to run a marathon in under four hours.

New Orleans. With all my heart. The food, chicory coffee, music, architecture, history, artsy culture, walking vibe, gardens, romance, all of it. Love the French Quarter especially. I feel homesick for it often.
