Jennifer Poynter-Thompson: 2017 LTYM OKC Cast Member

meet Jennifer Poynter-ThompsonJennifer Poynter-Thompson is the mother of 4 beautiful children, Adrienne, 19, Madeline, 14, Blaine, 4, and Lachlan, 2. She is an Associate Professor of English at OSU-OKC and has been a teacher since she turned 18, beginning with a pre-school class and then higher education. When she grows up, she wants to be a world class photographer, landscape architect, and grandmother always surrounded by her grand babies. One day, she wants to live on the beach, to hear the sound the waves make every single night.

Q: How did you learn about LTYM?

Q: What was your reaction to getting cast in the show this year?
A: I love that the universe proved my old adage again, No doesn’t always mean no. Sometimes it simply means later!

Q: Three words that describe you?
mermaid, creative, bookandbirdlover

Q: What does motherhood mean to you?  
A: That I never can find two socks that match.

Q: Tell us 2 fun facts about yourself.  
A: I like to eat dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. I have to go out and look at the starts every night before bed. It grounds me and prepares me for the next day.

Q: What do you collect?
A: I love to wear hats year round. I probably have a collection of 100 or more.

Q: What’s your favorite thing you’ve ever written?
A: There is a poem I wrote recently about my daughter going to college called “Fifth Season, End of Summer.”  It is my favorite right now because it is the most recent.

Q: What do you wish most for your children?
A:  Joy. Happiness is temporary, but joy is eternal.
