She oversees state-wide mediation projects and is a frequent speaker on mediation, family & children’s issues. She has two kids, one who studies Computer Science and Economics at Michigan and another who does cartwheels while planning to attend Hogwarts and teaching Harry Potter about Minecraft. Her two dogs are named Wrigley and Cubbie and she is just delusional enough to think this might be the Cubs’ year. She’s very thankful for her village. She is also mom to 3 dogs, a tortoise named Lizzie, and 3 zombie fish who refuse to die. She is also an awesome wife (her words) to a true Southern gentleman. She enjoys talking, but realizes that not everyone enjoys listening so her blog/therapy (Blogerapy?) Ironic Canner is helping her deal with life. By day, Carmen works for the Division of Youth Services, trying to make the world a little kinder and more supportive for struggling kids. By night, she avoids doing housework by training for her black belt in Cuong Nhu (look it up), gaming with her brilliant husband, and helping her three boys become happy and decent human beings. They have no idea how cool their mom really is. Carmen’s mom Sheila, whom her story is about, lives in Little Rock and continues to inspire her to seek out the next adventure. Mercer’s past credits include a number of plays and musicals in Arkansas, off – Broadway in New York, and internationally in Canterbury, England. A dedicated public servant and a woman of many creative talents, Mercer uses theatre arts as a tool for empowerment, education, and social justice. Daughter of legendary civil rights lawyer, Attorney Christopher C. Mercer, Jr. , she honors the legacy of her father by fusing arts and activism. Click here to buy – you don’t want to miss this! Jen Oglesby Holman struggles with a great many things, but storytelling has always come naturally. She comes from a long line of fish tale-tellers and raconteurs, and her own father considers himself a cowboy poet. The cowboy part is true enough. Jen served as press secretary for Congressman Vic Snyder for several years and executive director of Arkansas Literacy Councils. She has a master’s degree and the student loans to show for it. Jen has published three novels under the pen name Jen Crane, the second of which was selected by iTunes/iBooks as “Our Pick” in fantasy/sci-fi.
