Our Local Sponsor Spotlight: Women Writers Ink

April 12, 2017

We’re so pleased to introduce you to one of our local megaphone sponsors, Women Writers Ink! A nonprofit writing organization whose mission is to “reflect its light into words and enrich the world with story.” We couldn’t ask for a better partner! Everyone needs a community and, fifteen years ago, three women decided they needed support from one another as writers.  The result was a magical group called Women Writers that met, and still meets, to have a safe place in which to share writing. In 2013, the group incorporated as the nonprofit Women Writers Ink (WWink), and now they’ve formed three writing groups to bring the written word to more and more people. The key word here is “safe.” More important than anything else, WWink provides a place for people to share their writing, at any level. No one is forced to read their work aloud but, when they do, the feedback is […]

Welcome Back our Local Emcee: New 8’s Lisa Klein

April 9, 2017

We’re thrilled to have Channel 8’s Lisa Klein return to the Weber Center’s stage with us for our 2017 show! A mom herself, and supporter of area stories featuring families, education, and defying the odds, Lisa was the perfect addition to our 2016 debut. We loved having her hangout in the greenroom with the cast and she was part of our team huddle too! She had no idea we meant it when we warned her to “Keep kleenex handy.” Just like our audience, Lisa listened to all our motherhood stories for the first time on show night, and she was blown away. We can’t wait to hear what she thinks about our 2017 production! Here’s what she had to say about her experience last year: “I was truly struck by the testimonies of last year’s presenters. I heard stories of unconditional love and tremendous pain. As each storyteller bravely shared their experiences either […]

April 6, 2017

Welcome back to our returning local sponsor, Coulee Parenting Connection! Coulee Parenting is celebrating a very sweet anniversary this year and we’re thrilled to have them support our cast and crew for the second year! Going above and beyond, writer and CPC founder, Lissa Carlson, even volunteered at our show last year and helped hand out programs! Just another example of a mom who supports community, the arts, and parenthood – which, is kind of an art itself.  Sharing her personal journey and celebrating the Coulee Region’s only free parenting magazine is the founder and creator of CPC, Lissa Carlson! *** So Many Stories, So Little Time There’s nothing better than a good story, and everybody has one, particularly in the realm of parenting. Stories connect us and remind us […]

Get to know our 2017 photographer and take a look at some of her gorgeous photography for senior portraits, weddings, family photos and more! *** As a mom of three, I know how difficult it can be to get everyone gathered in one place. As our family grows, it becomes even more difficult to get everyone together. It can be hectic, for sure! The same can be said about photography shoots — especially when it comes to family and senior photo shoots. However, over the past ten years, I have learned the value […]

Our Local Sponsor Spotlight: Coulee Region Women

March 30, 2017

The mission of Listen To Your Mother has always been to provide voice for the good, the bad, and the barely-rested that is motherhood. Over the years, LTYM has maintained its vision to create space for diverse, complex, and humorous stories that showcase mothers and mother figures. And they partner and provide for numerous nonprofits that financially support women. This work is not done in a vacuum. It comes about through a lot of support from national and local sponsors that help support and amplify the mission of LTYM. Here in the Coulee Region, we are honored to welcome back many of our media sponsors including the female-owned and operated publication, Coulee Region Women. In their latest issue, they honor the makers and shakers of the Coulee Region. They celebrate creativity, art, and those that inspire us to make more of it. They are also supporters of our nonprofit partner, YWCA La Crosse, […]
