Watch our Debut La Crosse Production of Listen to Your Mother on YouTube!

July 14, 2016

If you missed out on sitting in the crowd for our April performance at the Weber Center, now you can watch the entire La Crosse show on YouTube! This year, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER gave motherhood a microphone in 41 cities — over 500 stories told, with thousands of live-listeners in audiences across the U.S. and Canada. Our La Crosse team is so thrilled to share these stories with you. For our debut show, we had just under 300 people in the crowd! You laughed with us, cried with us, found healing in your own lives, and courage to share more stories! We are so grateful to you, our host city, for making this a night to remember. You can watch the 2016 La Crosse show by clicking this playlist.  With heartfelt thanks and enormous gratitude to our 2016 cast and production team, and to our North American sponsors SheKnows #BlogHer16, Luvs, and local sponsors WKBT News […]

Thank You, La Crosse! That’s a Wrap on LTYM!

May 17, 2016

Those of us in the cast and crew are still riding the beautiful, empowering waves of our debut performance. The feeling in the air after the show had ended was downright electric. So many of you connected with our collection of stories, shared kind words with us (even your own motherhood tales), and asked to audition next year! We want to thank you, La Crosse, for supporting our show – a show that nobody quite knew what to expect, but came out anyway and filled the theater. Thank you to those that laughed along with us, shed tears with us, healed with us, and cheered each and every one of us on. We are so grateful to produce a show in this beautiful city and work with the fabulous Weber Center and their staff! What a gorgeous venue for our debut performance!   To our cast – THANK YOU for bravely stepping into […]

12 Reasons to Come Hear Listen To Your Mother: La Crosse

April 30, 2016

As the date of our La Crosse show drew closer, the anticipation also increased. So many times over the past month of rehearsals I heard cast members or their family remark “I can see why you picked that story” or “You really did get the quilt of stories you were looking for”. Or my favorite at our first table read, “This show is really going to be something”.  The reason that the Listen To Your Mother show is so powerful is because we’re telling truths. The stories you hear tonight are not made up. These aren’t actors donning a costume. They are sharing with you a glimpse into their lives and for a moment we’re all in the same emotional space with them – whether we are laughing our heads off, on the edge on our seats wondering what’s going to happen, coping with the process of aging and growing up, or standing together in solidarity. Telling our […]

You can find their latest issue at almost 500 locations near you, and they’re also on Facebook. Many of SEVEN’s articles feature talented moms in all areas of interest – from community theater to urban gardening initiatives, to volunteer work and business owners. Their stories are often shared in SEVEN’s (Almost) Famous Locals section as well as A Day in the Life. Here are a few moms whose stories have recently appeared: Thippi Luangpraseuth is a chef and volunteer for Grow La Crosse who has taken her love of cooking to a whole new level. La Crosse Cast Spotlight: Meet Molly, Tina, Jess and Amy Jo

April 25, 2016

Meet Molly Hilligoss What does the LTYM show mean to you? I am so proud to be a part of the LYTM team, throughout the process of putting our show together, I was humbled by all the stories I heard. Stories of sorrow, of hope, of loss and love. Stories whose common thread were tied together by the power of the mother/child relationship. This isn’t a topic of much conversation nor is it something that feels valued enough in our everyday lives. We all have stories to tell about being a mom or having a mom. It’s no small thing raising little people and we all deserve a voice and celebration!!   What’s the greatest lesson you learned from your mother? One of the things I am most thankful for is my mother’s sense of community, she is a very social person and is a very good friend. She creates community wherever she […]
