2017 Cast Spotlight: Shannon Kennedy, David Ruis Fisher, and Sarah Withee

April 28, 2017

Here are three more cast members that you must get to know before you come to Liberty Hall on May 7th and hear them read their stories. Shannon Kennedy How did you discover LTYM? I discovered LTYM in 2016 when my friend Annette Billings tried out and pushed me to also audition.  I had not heard of it before but quickly fell in love with the idea of TED Talks for Moms and so decided to casually write something.  I auditioned and didn’t get picked.  I wasn’t upset by it but enjoyed watching my friend perform.  Fast forward to 2017 and here I am…. What is the craziest thing you remember saying to your children?  There are so many things that I never thought I would ever say but the one thing I seem to say A LOT is “We pee in the house, not the backyard.” What is a perk of being a mom?  […]

2017 Cast Spotlight: Chris Omni and Lorna Larson

April 27, 2017

Our next two cast members are both from the Topeka area and were both referred to us by Annette Billings. If you were at last year’s KC show, you’ll remember Annette as our show closer with the soothing-as-honey voice. We are so lucky to have her as our emcee for the 2017 show! Don’t miss it! Chris Omni Who IS Chris Omni? Christal Omni. Most know her as Chris and many more know her as The Health Hippie. How did you discover LTYM? I heard about LTYM from Annette Billings.  I was minding my own busy life when I received a beep from Facebook messenger.  The message read, “Chris, I think this is something that would be marvelous for you to do.  I know you are busy, but the love you and your mother shared is…….” The rest is history! If you are a blogger/writer/vlogger, what is one of your favorite things you’ve […]

2017 Cast Spotlight: Jorrie Varney and Krystal Robinson

April 26, 2017

Here are two more of our wonderful cast members of the 2017 Listen To Your Mother: Kansas City show! Krystal Robinson Who IS Krystal? At 41, I am still figuring this out and it’s ever changing.  My answer today – a supportive and caring wife to an extraordinary man.  Committed and sometimes obsessed mother to the best kids in the world.  Loving & thankful daughter to two parents who taught me how to be confident & strong. And someone who always tries to choose kindness and understanding over negativity & judgement. How did you discover LTYM? I came across a Facebook post last year of someone I knew who had been on the show and it looked like fun.  A year later, a Facebook post popped up about the show auditions and I thought –  I should try out!  I signed up for the audition time and then realized I should probably get […]

2017 Cast Spotlight: Ronda Miller and Lacey Barberis

April 25, 2017

Our cast is spectacular this year, you guys. But without youtube videos coming out this year, you’ll have to be at the show to experience their stories. And you do not want to miss their stories. Here are two more of our amazing cast you need to get to know. Ronda Miller   How did you discover LTYM? I saw an ad on Facebook last year (I think). Annette Billings (a 2016 cast member and emcee for this year’s show) shared the info with me this year.  What is the craziest thing you remember saying to your children?    I told my son and daughter that their grandparents were Barney and Bebop. I reminded them how they weren’t around when they were starring on TV.  If you are a blogger/writer, what is one of your favorite things you’ve ever written?    I wrote a blog called This is Better Than That to help individuals with […]

2017 Cast Spotlight: Lacey Meier and Karen Johnson

April 24, 2017

Our show is in just under TWO WEEKS! Make sure you check out the ticket info so you don’t miss our final LTYM: Kansas City area show. Sunday, May 7 at 3:00, Liberty Hall in Lawrence, KS.  We’re going to spotlight our cast over the next two weeks, so here we go! Lacey Meier Who IS Lacey? I’m a former small town girl who moved to Kansas City because no one else from my hometown was here. It was a really scary new adventure, but one I’m glad I did. If I wouldn’t have, I would have never figured out the things I’m good at, or met my husband or learned that there are more restaurants out there than Applebees. I’m a bookworm, who is getting her Masters to become a school librarian and can’t wait to teach kids about how amazing books are. I am guilty of continually starting and stopping crafts. […]
