 Greetings, everyone!

We finally have some Listen to Your Mother News for you! We just wanted to get you through the holiday season before we started inundating you! Getting a venue has been a challenge. Many theaters and venues were interested in working with us but for one reason or another it didn’t work with their schedules. We do think we have finally found a venue, but we are waiting for the paperwork to be confirmed. The tentative date is May 8.

So we will be NOT be announcing our venue at this time but we will hopefully have this confirmed in the new year! But what we WOULD like to announce is…our auditions! Do you have a story to tell? Has motherhood, your own or someone else’s, made an impact on your life? Then please, please consider auditioning for our show! This 90 minute one night only event will feature local talent reading short pieces on the subject of motherhood.

We are looking for a wide variety of tales from a diverse group of people. You do not have to be a mother or even a woman to audition! We just ask that your piece be focused on the topic of motherhood. We want folks of all ethnicities, orientations, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, careers, and more to feel free to tell their story! We also want a wide variety of stories, from humorous to heartfelt to intensely emotional. Selection of pieces and performers will be based, above all, on how the pieces flow together to create a cohesive show, but we have heard time and time again that even those whose pieces are not chosen this time around will still benefit from telling their story. By having it heard. And we want to hear it.

Since this is the first time Hillary and I have produced a Listen to Your Mother Show we have to confess that we are a bit trepidatious.  We want so much to much to do the name proud and produce a dynamite show! So please, if you or someone you know has a distinctive point of view, is a talented writer or performer, or has a great story to tell, don’t let it go to waste! WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORY! Auditions will be held Wednesday, February 18 from 6-9 pm at McCollough Branch Library and Saturday, February 21st at Central Library downtown from 9 am to 5 pm.

Please contact us at to arrange a time for your audition, and please bring a 5 minute piece of the topic of motherhood to share.
