Cast Spotlight on Danielle Zack

by Tracey on May 2, 2017

Our cast members are complex, intelligent, and witty people. You simply have to hear them to believe us. We asked 4 questions to give you a feel for the innermost workings of their minds, and the variety of answers has been one of the highlights of this year’s process. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

1. If you could meet any person in history (living or dead, real or fictional) who would it be and why?

If I could meet anyone in history I would love to meet Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a leader and champion for women and humanity. I would love to be in the presence of her grace and strength. It would be incredible to catch even an ounce of her brilliance.

2. Have you ever been on stage before? How do you feel about going on stage for the LTYM show, knowing you’re also reading your own words?

I have been on stage many times before.  Just about every time I was dancing though. This will be my first time sharing something personal that I wrote. It’s a bit scary and very exciting at the same time. I’m thrilled to be joining the LTYM stage!

3. Unrelated to your essay, do you have a motherhood story to share?

There was a time when my daughter destroyed a library book. It was cheaper to buy a new book off Amazon. Because the library’s laminated cover was miraculously unscathed, I put the old cover on the new book and returned it to the library. I figured they’d probably do the same thing anyway. I just saved them the hassle.

4. If you could relive one day over again, what would you choose and why?

I hate the thought of reliving the same day over and over. I love change, growth and doing new exciting things. But, if I was oblivious to the groundhog effect, I would choose the last day of my daughters’ summer vacation this past year. We had a family beach sunset sushi date. We snorkeled, skim boarded, wiped out a lot and laughed at ourselves. It was the perfect time with my most favorite people.

Thank you, Danielle!
