Returning Listen To Your Mother Chicago Local Sponsor, Chicago Parent

by Tracey on April 6, 2016

For more than 25 years, the parents of Chicago and its surrounding areas have continuously turned to Chicago Parent for advice on colicky babies, educational choices, how to navigate playdates, and where to find the best parks.

Parents have anxiously flipped the pages of this free magazine while waiting outside doctor appointments for feverish babies, and have found solace in the soothing voices of mothers who have been there and done that and realized, it will be ok. WE will be ok. We are all in this parenting gig together, all parents; Chicago Parent has provided the continuity of community through several generations. Friendships formed either at any of the numerous activities that Chicago Parent hosts and highlights or via the magic of the internet and the on-line connections that the Chicago Parent website facilitates, are what carry us parents through the stressful moments until we can once again celebrate the highlights of our shared parenting journeys.

My favorite excerpt from their “About Us” page:

“There is nothing more life-changing than becoming a parent. It upends everything instantly and forever.

And those experiences–wondrous, worrisome, unique and universal–are the things that Chicago Parent and our readers share with each other. It’s a conversation. It’s news of an event for this weekend, it’s news that exposes a challenge to Chicago families that only Chicago Parent understands. It’s advice from a trusted columnist or blogger, it’s advice from a fellow parent who has lived it.”

Are you a parent looking for more conversation and community? Interested in something fun that also builds community and strengthens bonds? This Sunday, April 10 is the Spring Playdate held at the Athletico Center in Northbrook, IL. Full of sports thrills, character visits, bounce houses, train rides, obstacle courses and more, the Spring Playdate is the perfect way to kick away the winter blues and begin Springtime! Advance tickets are free for adults and $4 – $8 for children (depending on ages). Tickets are also available at the door for $5-$10 (depending on ages).
