Auditions are here, and so are Early Bird Tickets!

by Tracey on February 6, 2015

Our bags are packed, we are ready to roll and listen to the words of our 2015 auditionees!

For some people, this process might be a bit old hat. Chicago is full of talented story-tellers, and we have been blessed to be able to cast them in our shows each year.

For others, this experience will be something completely new and foreign. Some may not have spoken in public in years and others may have never graced the stage.

The uniting factor in all of our auditionees is that this show is something a little different. This show is personal and important in a way that many may not realize until they walk through that door this weekend. Motherhood, though universal in its nature, is one of the most personal and vital topics of our lives. To share a moment of your experience with motherhood with absolute strangers, and have it be judged, is to share a piece of your heart and soul. We are so grateful to all who undergo this challenge and must reiterate that THIS is what Listen To Your Mother is about: the courageous journey from page to audition to stage. Each one of you who is questioning whether or not you are “good enough” for this show, know that we are not the judges of THAT. We are simply the producers who will select pieces that fit together in a cohesive manner, which tell a variety of stories that need to be heard.

Tissues and hugs will be available as needed…

That said, as someone who has already read the submissions (naturally), I am here to tell you that the choices we have in front of us are beautiful. Piecing a show from the essays available is going to result in We are SO eager to get this show underway, and we know that many of you are already planning on attending. If so, we have a special deal this year – Early Bird Ticket Pricing!

From now until March 15, you can purchase your 2015 Chicago LTYM ticket at an Early Bird Price of $18 (with an additional $2 for the Theater Restoration fee).

Tickets will increase to $22 on March 16 (and the $2 fee), so act NOW!

Special thanks again to our local sponsor, Emerald City Theater, for the use of their space to hold our auditions! We couldn’t put on this show without the generous support of local businesses like yours. THANK YOU!

Hi Kathy!
Not in 2015; we put the call for new cities out every fall and so maybe someone from Florida will apply next year!
