That’s A Wrap!

The first ever LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show in Chicago was, for lack of a better word…AMAZING.

(Note to self: get a thesaurus.)

Tracey and I will be working on our Grand Summary Spectacular in the next couple of days, but we wanted to take a moment to post here right now to say how thrilled we are about how the show went. This was one of the most thrilling things I’ve ever been a part of. Tracey and I, as co-producers, felt like proud mamas to our cast last night: it was a glorious evening.

Some words from Tracey: Everyone kept telling me and Melisa “Good job” and “you did such a great job” and such, and I appreciated it, but what I really wanted to say to them was that it couldn’t have been so fabulous without every single cast member bringing their own special touches to the show. You all were AMAZING and perfect and we are SO PROUD of YOU.

Some Facebook comments and tweets from our cast:

Karen King: Still on Cloud 9!!! One minute, you’re on stage sharing your story with 300 people. The next, you are at home, eating leftover mac-n-cheese, sipping old wine and using a Subway napkin as TP because no one in the house can change the roll.

Alisha Sommer: Thank you so much. It was such an amazing experience–one I’ll never forget.

Audrey Berns: Ann Imig, I’ll bet if you shared the metrics of how many times “Spanx” was mentioned on social media by all of the participants in the LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER shows across the country, you could get them to be a national sponsor for next year.

Jen Hajer: Once upon a time I was in a show called Listen to your Mother. It was amazing. Thank you for all the support. Virtual and 3D. It really means a lot.

Melissa Haak: Seriously still high from the amazing LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show I am so honored to have been a part of it!

Brandie Langer: People. I did it. I f-ing did it.

Thanks again to everyone involved. Just…wow.

All Mondays should feel like this.

PS My Spanx were removed before I inhaled the mac-n-cheese! My muffin-top and I will gladly be the spokespeople for the 2013 sponsorship!

Congrats Chicago. We, in NYC had a similar mind-blowing, life-changing experience. We are all part of a community now–we’re the alumnis!

Yes about the Spanx!

And also, Tracey and Melisa, don’t sell yourselves short. Those “amazing” readers would not have been up there if it weren’t for you… so… WAY TO GO! You put together a fabulous show, a spectacular group of talented readers, and the stories… wow. You brought those stories to those of us in that audience and made a history with us, unforgettable. 🙂 THANK YOU!
