Cast Spotlight on Stacey Hoffer Weckstein

by admin on April 26, 2012

Stacey is one of those people who just makes you like her. She’s just genuinely nice. Her piece about motherhood for this year’s show will resonate with mothers everywhere. She shares a little bit about herself in the questions below…

Tell us about your family.

I live in Evanston with my husband and two boys, ages 6 and 8.

Tell us about living in your Chicagoland neighborhood. Where do you live and what do you love about it? What aspects of it are fabulous for families? What would you like to improve?

I love living in Evanston. I love the community, the people, the beaches, the lake front, and the bike paths. Evanston is close enough to downtown Chicago but also close to great destinations on the North Shore like the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

What is the one thing that really surprised you about being a parent?

The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree. Sometimes watching my boys is like gazing into the mirror of my soul.

What wisdom would you pass onto a woman who is entering motherhood for the first time?

I would pass on wisdom I have learned from Kristine Carlson, author of Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms:  nourish your spirit first, surround yourself with great mothers, choose happiness and peace over stress, practice gratitude, practice being in the moment, and when all else fails, laugh.

You wrote a beautiful and touching piece for LTYM. (Thank you!) Where else do you write?

You can find me on, writing from the heart about living my dreams.

Thank you for sharing, Stacey! We are grateful for your participation and contribution to our show!

Thank you, Stacey!
I am honored that you would pass on the little nuggets of tried and true wisdom from having been there and done that a lot as a Mom (from me)!

Best wishes and happy Mothering!
