We are thrilled to announce that Boulder will be hosting a Listen To Your Mother Show in 2014! Wahoo!
What started as one show in Madison, WI in 2010 has become a phenomenon. This year we are so proud to announce that Listen to Your Mother: Boulder will be one of 32 shows nationwide!
Our 2013 year was an incredible success, and one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. Our cast from Boulder brought it with their amazing, heart-wrenching, heart-warming and hilarious stories about motherhood. We have a feeling that Boulder will be bringing it again. Bunch of overachievers, that lot.
I can’t believe that one year ago I pretty much had no idea what Pam Moore and I were getting into and, well, I didn’t know that LTYM would change my life in so many ways. I started a blog, armored with the constant encouragement and advice from my co-producer Pam Moore, as she is like a word-weilding blog ninja. And the blog gave me the confidence I needed to really commit to writing. Pam and I both finished NaNoWriMo this November (did you know November is National Novel Writing Month?) and well…we both expect to be famous authors by this time next year! How exciting, right?
But while we are turning into famous authors we are also going to be rocking out Boulder’s Listen To Your Mother Show. Additionally, Pam will be growing a human being inside her body. Yes, she is that good.
We can’t wait to hear the stories. Your stories. Because, you know, this is all about you. And you. And you. Get out your pens or your laptops or your etch-a-sketchs and your memories and write your story down.
We are looking for well-written, engaging stories about motherhood, told by a diverse group of people. Did you notice, I said “people” not “mothers”? You don’t need to be female. You don’t need to be a mother. You don’t even need to like children (or pets). ANYONE who has something to say about motherhood can be involved….Motherhood is not a requirement.
We are looking for that one funny story where your kid embarrassed you in the store that one time, that personal story that you have never told anyone, or that one story that makes your eyes well up just thinking about it.
Stories are powerful. Your story is powerful.
In the meantime…get writing!
