Building the Bridges of Laughter in Life

design (2)“I felt at the time as if I’d been dealt a living death.” Chitra Raman’s daughter was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Despite giving up and giving in to a dark future for her family, she found new ways to create connections with her child. “And so I used laughter and fun as much as I could to build connections.”

With the support of her husband Shankar they formed a strong team working together on a foundation of being able to make each other laugh. “If we were humorless parents that saw every quirk in our child as needing to be fixed we would have created a permanent hell for ourselves –and for Divya.”
