What I Learned From My Mother

Growing up in the 1950’s, Linda Cayot has some wonderful memories of her mother’s wisdom to share. From family council meetings to a suggestion box in the hall for the children to submit their ideas — she and her sisters were taught they had a voice and that gender roles didn’t matter. “So what did I learn from my mother? We all have a voice and a vote — use it.” And of course life would have spills and there would be scary things, but Linda used her mother’s lessons as a guide toward her dreams.
