“The first time he played it sounded like somebody had stepped on the cat’s tail.” When her son said he wanted to play the violin, Lisbeth Coiman dreamed of becoming the mother of a famous soloist. Through the years, the prized instrument would produce a much different outcome than she’d imagined.

“My sons didn’t become musicians. They did become disciplined young men with good working ethics, capable of making their own good decisions about what is important for them.”
