Sponsor Spotlight: Baker Printing

April 12, 2017

We are elated to have Baker Printing coming back for a third year as a Megaphone level sponsor! Each year so many people comment about the high quality of the programs and other printed materials. Yes, the quality is fantastic, but the customer service is even better! Baker Printing is a Christian, family-owned business, started by Jack Andrew Bishop and Martha Johnson Bishop in 1963. Under the care of the Bishop family, Baker Printing has grown from a small family company to the thriving business it is today. Three of the Bishop sons, Andy, Ricky and Spencer still the owners and over-see daily operations. Part of the company’s success is due to the brothers’ foresight and ability to adapt to the rapid changes in the printing field, while still maintaining the well known high standard of quality that is synonymous with Baker Printing. Even though Baker Printing is one of the largest, most awarded and prestigious commercial […]

Cast Spotlight: Angela S. Smith

April 12, 2017

I am super pumped to have this spunky, funny, faith-filled and dynamic woman in the cast this year. Angela came to us after our regular auditions were closed and we knew there was something we were still missing. After reaching out to some contacts to find those we hadn’t yet reached, we held a few additional auditions and Angela was the perfect fit. Her piece is light and fun and relatable, but she is so much more. I immediately felt like I could talk to her for hours and her spirit and joy is intoxicating. You are going to love her, but in the meantime here’s a little peek: How did you hear about Listen to Your Mother? What made you decide to audition? I first heard about LTYM through a friend (Tiffany Dickerson) who performed last year. I still didn’t know much about it or even how the participants were selected. This […]

Cast Spotlight: Livy Zachary

April 10, 2017

We met Livy last year when she came to her mom Amy’s audition. Amy was cast in the show but we fell in love with them both and got a package deal. Livy was sweet and spunky and absolutely *brilliant* and we wondered if she would audition this year, and sure enough, she did. She writes with the maturity of someone twice her age but still has the softness and innocence that she should as a teenager.  She’s the youngest person we have ever cast but I am so glad we did. Here’s a little glimpse at our cute and quirky Livers (as her mom adoringly calls her): How did you hear about Listen To Your Mother? What made you decide to audition? My mother…and I always listen to my mother. Pick a song, television show, or movie that could represent your life. Gilmore Girls, for sure. Since the first time my Momma […]

Cast Spotlight: Toiryan Milligan

April 6, 2017

Ladies and gentlemen, every year I have done this show I have begged prayed to God that He would send me a man to be in the cast. We have had some audition but they never fit quite right into the show, but this year my wish came true and in a big way. Toiryan is a WILDLY talented slam poet who somehow remains humble through his success and artistic genius. His piece this year has left all of us with our jaws on the floor and so thankful that he is part of this finale season. He was well worth the three year wait and you DO NOT want to miss hearing from him! But in the meantime, get a glimpse at his fun personality and quirky cool style here: How did you hear about Listen To Your Mother? What made you audition? I heard about the event through Meghan while I […]

Cast Spotlight: Joy Holden

April 4, 2017

I have had the pleasure of knowing Joy for several years having attended the same church and having had some similar interests. In years past I’d secretly hoped that she would audition, and when she signed up this season I was so hopeful that her piece would fit into the perfectly crafted puzzle that makes up each show. I was thrilled when it did! She brings such a light and warmth, and her story is one of honesty that all mothers and parents will be able to relate to. She lives up to her name in every way and I can’t wait for you to meet her. Here’s Joy: How did you hear about Listen to Your Mother? What made you decide to audition?

I first heard about it through Facebook. Then my best friend wrote and performed last year, and I got to see her pour her heart out on stage. The entire show […]
