TAYA DUNN JOHNSON, Baltimore Co-Producer – Taya calls herself a Native New Yorker since she was born and raised there; however the Baltimore metro area has been home since 2012. She has been writing at MrsTDJ since 2006. “Write. Release. Breathe. Repeat.” is beyond a tag line for her blog – it’s a mantra Taya has adopted and shared with her readers. She’s a rebel who breaks blogger rule #1 – post on a regular schedule. Her readers don’t mind, as they ride the emotional waves while she navigates life as an expressive, vulnerable, humourous and audacious widowed mother of an autistic 6 year old son. Taya is a writer, speaker, panelist, and workshop facilitator. She has been published in the anthology, “Listen To Your Mother: What She Said Then, What We’re Saying Now”, online on notable sites including Upworthy, xoJane, www.BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com, and she has contributed to articles on Buzzfeed and Everyday Parent. Taya was introduced to Listen To Your Mother when she was chosen as a cast member for the 2013 Washington, DC show. This is Taya’s 4th year co-producing the Baltimore show and her 3rd year on the national team as Diversity and Inclusion Outreach Consultant.
ARLENE JACKSON, Baltimore Co-Producer – Most who know Arlene refer to her lovingly as “The Church Lady” as a acknowledgement of her pleasant spirit, giving nature and strong faith. A native Baltimorean and divorced mother of a 21 year old, Arlene has been active in the AME Church and civic events for all of her life. She does not currently blog, but has been encouraged to do so and hopefully this LYTM experience will push her over to the blog side. This is Arlene’s 4th year co-producing the Baltimore show.
