With over 85 film and television credits to his name, such as The Family, 30 Rock, and Sneaky Pete, just to namedrop a few, you’ve most likely seen Jimmy right from the comfort of your living room. Well we’re happy he’s bringing his talent to Listen To Your Mother NYC. Here’s more…

What makes you feel accomplished?

I think showbiz wise it is when I am able to book enough work to pay my bills each year. Also, when I write or create something that people enjoy. Personally, I think it is when I am being the best Daddy and Husband I can be.

How would your friends describe you?

I think they would say I am loyal and always good for a few laughs.

What word best describes you?

Kind. I think I am kind…at least I try to be…with a side order of ball busting…

What are you most thankful for?

I am thankful that my parents and my brother and sister were unbelievably supportive in every way in the beginning of my career. They kind of always thought I should give it a shot. And now my wife, my daughter, and my in-laws are also very supportive in every way. Truly. There is no way I could be an actor today without their support. Simply no way. Being married to an actor is a very hard thing to do. We can get a little crazy at times! Lol…

Jean, an accomplished brand and marketing executive, emailed us on the morning of audition day saying, “I’ve procrastinated a bit, but would love the opportunity to audition.” Well Jean’s go-get-‘em attitude, and, her rocking story, paid off. At our first rehearsal, Jean revealed that her motivation to audition was to show her daughter the importance of taking risks. (How very Listen To Your Mother is that?!) Here’s more from Jean…Jean Brandolini Lamb

What makes you feel accomplished?

A good night’s sleep makes me feel pretty accomplished.

How would your friends describe you?

My husband describes me as “conscientious, generous, intelligent and intrepid.” My friend describes me as “smart and funny, wry and dry with a heart of gold.”

What word best describes you?

Committed.

What are you most thankful for?

I am most thankful for my patient husband, Matt, who always believes in me and lets me dream big and small dreams. And I am especially thankful for our amazing little girl who teaches me more and more every day… especially how to be less serious.

Don’t procrastinate – be a risk-taker! Come hear Jean! Tickets for Listen To Your Mother NYC 2017 are on sale NOW! See you at the show!

Getting to Know LTYM NYC Cast Member – Susan Buttenwieser!

April 19, 2017

Susan is a mother, teacher, contributor to Brain, Child and elsewhere – and writer of possibly the most comprehensive answer to our question “What are you thankful for?” Susan is also a LTYM NYC alum and we are pleased to have her back, sharing her gifts once more. Here’s that question and more from Susan… What makes you feel accomplished? My daughters make me feel so proud, but they are their own accomplishments, not mine.  And when I’m teaching, it’s amazing to walk into a classroom full of middle schoolers or incarcerated women, hand out pieces of blank paper and 50 or 90 minutes later, all these new poems exist in the world that weren’t there before. Accomplished isn’t really the word for the feeling, it’s more being a witness to human awesomeness. How would your friends describe you? I’m not sure, but all I know is that my friends are the most brilliant, […]

Getting to Know LTYM NYC Cast Member – Eleni N. Gage!

April 12, 2017

Eleni is a turn-paging novelist and journalist whose writing credits include Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, and a bean-obsessed, healthy eating article in the Spring issue of Martha Stewart Living (just to name a few). We are very happy Eleni is bringing her candid and delectable storytelling to our stage! Here’s more from Eleni… What makes you feel accomplished? Throwing a good party (I’m still high on the thrill of pulling off our wedding in Greece—almost seven years ago). Or when everyone in my family eats the same dish I cooked for dinner. It happens maybe five times a year. Sad, but true. How would your friends describe you? Small but effective. What word best describes you? Delighted. What are you most thankful for?  My people. When they’re not driving me crazy—and even when they are—they make life so much fun. Come party with Eleni and the rest of the cast! […]
