2013 Audition Updates

LTYM local directors and producers are busy securing venues and planning for 2013 auditions. Some cities plan to request written submissions as a first-step, while others will invite everyone to audition. Below please find an update from each city, with more information on their auditions.

Subscribe to your local site (find under “local shows” on nav bar above), or check it regularly for updates. Pay attention to submission deadlines, because some come up soon–for instance Chicago’s deadline is January 15th.

Remember, regular everyday people with a story to tell make up the heart of LTYM. You don’t need to call yourself a writer. You don’t need any performing experience. You just need to share the story in your heart or on your mind.

Putting together an LTYM show reminds Stephanie Precourt (former Northwest Indiana director and current Online Content Manager) of putting together a great playlist about motherhood. Don’t try to give us the whole playlist with your piece–just give us your unique story and voice.

Austin uses a two-step selection process. Step 1: writers submit stories beginning in late January. Step 2: We make selections from the submissions and ask writers to read for us. We will then choose our cast based on the auditions. Complete details, schedules and submission guidelines here. Deadline for submissions is March 1, 2013

Boulder will be holding auditions late the last week of February and the first week of March. Check the site for more details soon.

Chicago will accept submissions from now until January 15th, and will hold auditions in February. We are enjoying the submissions that have been received so far and look forward to reading YOURS very soon! Read full details here.

Denver will hold auditions in early March. Look for an update later this month with a call for submissions.

Eastern Iowa will accept submissions from January 25th through February 16th, and then hold in-person call backs. Find more details here.

Indianapolis auditions will be held in mid-February. Announcement with full detail coming soon!

Kansas City is accepting submission now and until February 15th. Find full details here.

Madison auditions will be held on March 2nd. We will take appointments beginning with an announcement early next month.

Milwaukee Auditions will be scheduled for late February…details to come. Please send an email with the subject line “Keep me posted” to LTYMMIL@gmail.com to be alerted as soon as announcements are made. Looking forward to hearing from you.

New York City will hold auditions on the weekend of February 23/24 as well as Monday and Tuesday the 25th and 26th. For more details, click here.

Northern Utah is planning to hold auditions between February 22nd and March 2nd. We will begin to set up audition appointments at the beginning of February. Full details will be announced on the site.

Northwest Arkansas will announce their venue this week and begin accepting written submissions on February 1st. Live auditions will follow in March. We will provide full audition details and make audition appointments available with a blog announcement in by the end of January

Northwest Indiana will hold auditions the first week in March.  We will provide full audition details and make
audition appointments available with a blog announcement in early February.

Oklahoma City will accept written submission from February 3 – February 28 with selected live auditions in March. We’ll post the email address for written submissions on February 2.

Plumas County is calling for submissions until Febrary 7th.  Audtitions will take place Febrary 23rd. Find full details here.

Providence auditions will take place in late Feburary/early March. Follow their blog for updates.

Raleigh-Durham will hold auditions the beginning of March. Check the site for more details soon

Sacramento will hold auditions the first weekend in March. More about submissions and audition appointments on the LTYM Sacramento site in the coming days.

San Francisco is currently accepting requests for audition appointments on February 10th and February 12th. Find more details here.

Spokane is currently taking appointments for auditions on February 23rd. Find full details here.

St. Louis is holding auditions on February 28th and March 2nd. Find full details here.

Twin Cities submissions are open, and close at the end of January. Auditions are set for 3/2 and 3/9 from selected submissions. Get full details here.

Washington D.C. begins accepting audition appointments on January 21st for their auditions on February 9th and 16th. Find full details here.
