Alexandra is a first generation American, whose family arrived here from South America. She lives in the small town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, where she tries to blend in. She lives there with her husband, Mark, and their three school age sons, who actually are the greatest children ever born.
Finding herself the only female in a household of males, Alexandra decided to start a blog in 2010, to have someone to talk to. Apart from deciding not to marry that one guy in college, this was one of the best decisions she has ever made. She not only gets to talk to people daily at her website, Good Day, Regular People.com, but her writing has been published on BlogHer, mamapedia, FunnynotSlutty, and other websites. She is also a regular contributor at The Mom Renewal Project, and TikiTiki Blog. Visits to her blog are encouraged.
Alexandra has never attended a single yoga class, scrapped a single scrapbooking page, hosted a kitchen gadgets party, nor even placed respectably in the school cupcake challenge.
Her children still want to keep her.
She is thrilled to be part of the 2011 Listen To Your Mother cast, and humbled to be included among the talented readers of this show.
Editor’s note: Alexandra writes the hugely popular blog “Good Day, Regular People.” Her LTYM piece is devastatingly beautiful and I can’t wait for you to hear her read it.

I am so thrilled to be a 2011 Listen To Your Mother mama.
I truly hope that anyone who is able to come that day, comes.
From the readings I heard at our first rehearsal, this is going to be a show that you will leave talking about, and planning on attending, year after year.
Thank you, Ann, and Darcy, for all the love and sincere nurturing of such a production.
I can't wait!
OMG Alexandra congratulations!!!!
Your bio is fabulously witty, just like you!
Sounds like it's all going to be awesome! Too bad it's so damn far from here. You'll be great
I love the bio! A perfect encapsulation of a wonderful woman.
I would give anything to be here for this and for Gigi. I can't wait to see your performance on video, next best thing to being there. I know, without a doubt, it will be moving and poetic and you'll kill us all with your tender words, just like you do every day.
Good luck, my darling friend. You'll be extraordinary.
Cannot wait to watch the video! I'll be with you in spirit!
Go, Empress, go go Empress! You know I love you to pieces, Alexandra. So thrilled for you.
This is a perfect little wrap-up of an incredibly talented, funny, and insightful woman I feel blessed to have met in the blogosphere.
And Alexandra, I hate scrapbooking too.
How wonderful!!!!
I'm so glad to call you my friend!!
I wish I could be there to hoot and cheer and scream for you but this comment will have to do. You are going to knock 'em dead. Most likely, everyone in tw audience will wish you were their mom…kinda like how I do except no one could possibly love you more than me. XOXOXOXO
Congratulations to the Empress! You are my favorite royal.
So exciting. Yeah to you!!!!
If I were not hip-deep in family chaos that entire weekend…I would make the trek up there. Please know how very, very excited I am for you. LTYM has chosen wisely.
So fabulous. Love you and your bio!
The bio is really awesome! I wish I lived closer, so that I could attend! You'll have to blog about it, and let us know how it went! Good luck!
What a fantastic and fun opportunity!
I enjoyed reading your bio–and that's a nice headshot. (=
You are such a wonderful, caring, giving person. I'm so glad to know you.

Congrats Alexandra! Keep on doing whatever it is you are doing. I firmly believe there will be time to scrapbook in hell.
This bio is a masterpiece – why couldn't you have written mine? So wish you and Gigi and I were all in the same place. Can't wait to watch the videos of you all! xo
Excellent addition!! Congratulations!
congratulations.. always a pleasure to read your writing, and to get to know more about you!
I think my head exploded for her when I found out that she was chosen for this. Not because I was surprised, because come on now, she is pure awesomesauce, but because I was so happy for her. I knew that she would nail this and I couldn't be more proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone and going for it.
Way to go Alexandra!!! Xoxo
Alexandra, this is wonderful. Congratulations! I wish I had reason to be in Wisconsin in early May… The LTYM concept is a good one. I must learn more.
AWESOME!!!! Yay!!! Congrats Alexandra!! So sad to miss it but perhaps it will be videoed?
All Hail Empress! Fabulous bio. And am I the only one to notice that you are a total Hottie? I'm not sure I've seen your photo before today. Just thought I'd point that out.
What a perfect bio for one of the most beloved people in all of blogdom!
I think the header of this page should be amended:
"LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER features live readings by local writers on the beauty, the beast, the barely-rested,and the blogger butt of motherhood."
Congratulations! Loved the bio!
I'm so excited for you! You are a perfect addition for such a show. It will be incredible. Best wishes!
Hey can I score a free roundtrip ticket from Arizona to Wisconsin to root you on? Shoot, maybe even a one way ticket. You'll be amaaaaazzzzzing.
You are simply an INCREDIBLE addition to the show, dear lady. I'm so very very thrilled that you are part of this.
Please tell me there will be a podcast?? I can't get to Wisconsin!
You are simply amazing.
You weave words with pure mastery.
I so wish I could be there to listen and cheer.
I will have to settle for the video.
